My First Hostessing at Doll Lovers Paradise
When Mandy asked me how long I took to dress for my first time as hostess at the Doll Lovers paradise, I told her, "2 Hours." I was so nervous!
But when I arrived at the club, all my stress drained away within minutes. I don't think many negative feelings can last long, in a bright pink room filled with bubbly, fun dolls and those that love them!
Madame Wender was considerate- she knew I would be nervous and kept constantly whispering to me things I could say, should tell the crowd, etc. Even when I made a huge error and suggested we start the voting for the "Best dressed Doll" contest an hour early, she was careful how she mentioned it. I think Madame Wender would be like a human's mother- caring and helpful and supportive. That is, if the mother wore black latex, stilletos and carried a whip.
The contest ended in a 4 way tie, which always makes people happy, and the music by DJ Brandi was fun, poppy, and "Doll Like". A great time for everyone! I got to play with people, bring up conversation topics, do the "wee!" slide, and mention upcoming events to the Sim. I left feeling very pleased, and a bit tired.
I got in my sulky, and as my buckskin quarter-horse pulled us home to the Shoppe, I counted the coins in my Tip hat. It was enough to make 1 week's tier on one parcel! I giggled gleefully, anxious to Hostess again, and thankful to Skye and Madame Wender for giving me the chance.

Steelhead's Roman Dance
I get many notices at The Hypnotic Shoppe, and carefully read and consider every one. But when the courier arrives on horseback wearing brass revolvers, well, wouldn't you pay a bit more attention?
I was hereby invited to the Steelhead Roman Dance! I called my assistants to watch the shoppe as I went into the Great Closet and dug out the never - worn toga I bought so long ago.
"I knew this would come in handy!"
Lacing up the boots proved an effort, and exercise in patience. One should not do it when one is late for a dance with fun, influential people of the Steam Lands! They come stretched out to fit anyone, and you must edit them, one loop at a time, each ring resized, then rotated so they touch again. Tedious, but they look really nice when you're done.
:DOLL FASHION NOTE: If you are wanting to make an impression in a large room, an entrance where most people will be 20 M or more from you, choose the primmy clothing over the apparel "paint-on" clothing. Details like sandal laces, belts, scarves, brooches etc are lost on clothing at that distance, but hold up in the viewer better if they are an attachment. It's a pain I know, but the price we pay for glamour and fame! Remember your beauty and presence may be a reflection on you, but it is a gift you give everyone there. :
I wondered if my lengthy preparations would be noticed, but was relieved and overjoyed to receive so many greetings at the marble entrance. I tried not looking at the mesmerizing chandelier and mingled with the others. There were Region owners and Mega-store creators, Chancellors and Univeristy deans, a veritable "Who's Who" of the Steam Lands! I was awed and very happy to be there.
Thadicus and Riven looked marvelous, as did Annechen Lovey, Cooke Andel, Dominic Roffo, Palabra Puddlegum, Michael Macbeth and so many others!
It was also nice to see so many men at the dance, where there is usually a disprai, a dispare,, a um,, well, it is uneven!
I simply could not end this without thanking Tensai Hilra for the lovely sim with such rich RP potential, and the fabulous dance party! Here's a picture- LOOK HOW CUTE!

The Gorgeous Ballroom in Steelhead was the perfect opulence for a Roman Dance |
The time taken on the prim belt and sandals pays off. New hair in Roman style helped too! |

Don't Thad and Riven look great? |

The Quest for Quests
"Thank you," I said as my employee wound me fully, then I pulled the folding pin and hid the key. It can't be wound like this, which is dangerous should I lose track of time, but it's better for my plan.
Dolls have plans!
My plan was to find fun Roleplay Sims- firstly to mention and promote in my class at Oxbridge. Secondly, I looked forward to a fun fantasy quest !
I popped into the clinic at Dark Rose, where i am a new healer and midwife there. I smiled at the name on the door, proud to aid others with injuries and with their pregnancies with the mama allpa system. I grabbed my Healer bag tied myself into my Aria "Lorien" elven leather outfit, and headed out.
My canoe pulled up at Everwind- hopeful from their Search information. I was quickly deflated. Their entry room was poorly textured and compared to other RP sims, was sparse in their instruction posters, pictures of proper gameplay and costume, and generous assistants donating time to get us new people dancing in time with the others. One notecard did say, no combat, and no spells systems, and no high script huds should be used. Hmm...
Some nice textures and images keep me hopeful the poorly explained and cold feeling Everwind will prove fun |
Nothing actually tells you about the game being played, not even the people! Two long time members basically ignored my presence, giving me a "looks at the new person" emote. One did state I could look around but could not join in, I was an observer. Without any help from them on how to change that status, I would be a doll on a shelf, something I know a bit about. The textures down on the sim were a bit nicer though, and I vowed, one day perhaps with an experienced member of the sim, I would return to this land with the Ever cold Wind in your face.
The next place looked like a land from my Typist's world!
Toronto,,, I like the way the word falls from the tongue,, perhaps it is an adventure waiting to happen!
I wandered the streets, deserted at the late hour (2 AM actual Toronto time). The Great Space Needle was looming over head. I found no way to enter it- that would be so neat though! A strange mix of texture and build quality kept me looking around, when a purple horseless carriage came speeding at me! People inside were shooting! From an alley nearby a tall thin man shot back at them!
I ran.
When I finally stopped running I felt bad- what if one was hurt and needed me, the new healer? My chance to prove myself and worth, ran into my realization of how fragile and inexperienced i was.
Do humans ever look in the RP mirror of life, and realize they are First Level?
I was snapped from my thoughts by the tantalizing smell of fresh baked breads, sweet cakes and doughnuts, and the invigorating aroma of freshly ground premium coffee!
"Teeem, Horrr-Tunz." I had trouble pronouncing their name but no problem at all refueling my body and aspirations at the coffee shop!
A steaming cup later, I wiped the frosting from my lips, and headed back to the Shoppe. I would continue my Quest tomorrow.
